Plowshares is a Hub for Outreach for Many Community Services Agencies

On any given weekday Plowshares serves as a site for various Community Service organizations to connect people to services.

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley “Street Medicine Team” makes regular visits to Plowshares to engage with guests and provide blood pressure checks, screenings, and can provide quick referrals to those who need a higher level of care. www.adventisthealth.org

On a biweekly basis a Rural Homeless Veterans Outreach Social Workers from Veterans Affairs pulls up in the Plowshares parking lot and works out of the back of his truck, to offer resources and connections to veterans.  www.socialwork.va.gov

Mendocino Community Health Clinic regularly sends their Patient Financial Services Lead to help guests learn about eligibility for SNAP and Medi Cal. Help with completing applications is available for those in need. www.mchcinc.org

Redwood Community Service provides emergency shelter intake in the Plowshares Community Room every weekday during lunch service. www.rcs4kids.org

ABC No Barriers provides opportunities for developmentally disabled adults through volunteer opportunities and employment. ABC brings their clients to Plowshares for volunteer opportunities, meals, and provides group activities in the Plowshares Community Room. www.mendolakeace.org/adults-disabilities-programs

Plowshares also partners with North Coast Opportunities to serve as an RSVP volunteer site through its Meals on Wheels program. Currently there are over 50 RSVP volunteers serving at Plowshares through this program. www.ncoinc.org

In a small community such as Ukiah, partnering with other social services agencies and other non-profits is essential. We are proud to be a part of all the various efforts that go into making Ukiah a caring home town.
